Treatment Centers: And Why They’re Needed
Treatment centers are specifically designed for individuals who are suffering from alcoholism and drug dependency. It provides a group approach that has the aim to foster the spirit of camaraderie so as living alcohol and drug free.
Why do I need to go to treatment centers?
Basically, you will be going to treatment centers because you want to save your life. All of the individuals that you see in treatment centers have tried to stop their problem single handedly, the result? You are seeing these people in treatment centers already, what do you think is the result? Most of the individuals that you see in treatment centers are already shouting for help. It is not uncommon to hear stories like their families left them or his wife broke up or something like all of his possessions suddenly got lost and the like.
What kind of people are there?
The kinds of individuals that you will see in treatment centers are mostly just like you. Various groups of individuals who are taking alcohol and drugs are grouped according to their occupation or social status. In some groups you would even be surprised to see successful doctors, lawyers, business men and very famous politicians. Basically, the individuals you will see in treatment centre are plain human beings that have a problem.
What do we do in treatment centers?
Basically what you see below is the typical 12 step approach that you will see in other websites and other books as well. But in order to be original and descriptive I will try to alter some words to make it use simpler and more dramatic as it could be.
1. Don’t deny the problem. We need help, we are helpless and we couldn’t do anything about it.
2. Believe that something powerful will be there to help us become the persons who we want to be.
3. Make a step towards to living in peace or towards living the holy life.
4. Make a bank of moral deeds and actions.
5. Admitted to everyone that we did something wrong and we want to be renewed.
6. We are willing to change our character and submit ourselves to the almighty creator.
7. Desperately ask God to save us from ourselves
8. Remember all the persons that you did something bad and Do something about it.
9. Do your best to compensate your wrong doings to those persons except when your actions will cause more trouble than before.
10. Do not stop making wrong actions if you made a mistake admit it.
11. Pray and meditate to God frequently especially when you are tempted to do something that you wouldn’t like.
12. Practice these teachings in your life and help others in their problems as well.
The 12-step approach is the generic method in treatment centers. The only difference is how they handle it. As you can see, most of those steps often involve God and the reason for that is: Religious beliefs of any kind often serve as the opium and placebo for those who are distressed.
Every human being has a spiritual aspect in their life no matter how they deny the existence of God. It is important that we frequently consult our spiritual life since human beings has the trait of being insatiable. We will always want something new and we will never be content of what we have. The “God” that most of the religious and scientific people are referring to is the “God” that will satisfy our infinite wants and needs.
Do not fight your battles alone. I strongly believe that no person must be left out, and every one of us should be given a second chance. If you think that you need to go to treatment centers then I am saying it to you directly to please go. Never mind what other people will say. You have you problems and they have theirs.
